Not for navigation. Smooth Sailing is a planning aid only. Routes, times, fuel, wind, wave, and current values are estimates and model forecasts, not observations, and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not a substitute for official charts, official forecasts, proper seamanship, or your own judgment. You are solely responsible for the safe navigation of your vessel.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages, loss, injury, or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service — including any decision made while planning or undertaking a voyage.

Accounts

• You may use Smooth Sailing without an account. An optional account lets you sync your saved boats and routes across devices.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
• You may delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

Free use

• Smooth Sailing is free to use. Every feature — trip planning, tides, currents, wind, and route export — is available to everyone at no charge.
• There are no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no ads.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service: no attempts to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, abuse the upstream data providers, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Third-party data

The Service relies on third-party data (OpenStreetMap, NOAA/NWS, CARTO). Their availability and accuracy are outside our control. See About for sources and licenses.

Changes

We may update these terms or the Service at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
